Met with the HKMA to express challenges faced by the real estate agency industry

On 9 August, with representatives from the real estate industry and some other LegCo members, I met with the Deputy Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority to discuss the current challenges faced by the real estate agency industry. The real estate agency industry has put forward several suggestions, including urging the HKMA to issue appropriate guidelines for banks to make clearer statements regarding lending policies. They hope that the HKMA will help banks streamline mortgage guidelines to further unleash the purchasing power of buyers and investors. We urged the HKMA and the administration to work together with the industry to resolve issues and promote the healthy development of the property market, allowing Hong Kong residents to live and work in peace and contentment.

Attended seminar on Spirit of Third Plenary Session of 20th CPC Central Committee

Government on 26 August to learn about the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. The decision of the Plenary Session leads the country towards Chinese modernisation and high-quality development, which is crucial to the development, prosperity and stability of Hong Kong in the long run. As Hong Kong enters a new stage of “advancing from stability to prosperity,” it must integrate into the tide of reform, actively align with national strategies such as the “15th Five-Year Plan” and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macao Greater Bay Area, and fully seize the historical opportunities brought about by national development. Hong Kong must strive to be a “super connector” and “super value-adder” under the strong support of the motherland while being closely connected to the world, and to continuously create a wonderful chapter of “One Country, Two Systems” on the new reform journey.

Led a delegation to visit the local newspaper media centers

In July, I led a group of students under internship programme to visit two local newspaper media centers. They gained insights into the history and transformation of traditional newspaper industries. These two newspapers have played an active role at various stages of the development of our nation and continue to innovate in today’s era of new media. They adapted to changing trends and strived to tell the stories of China and Hong Kong effectively. Through this visit, the students were able to broaden their horizons and gain a deeper understanding of newspaper and media work.
