Internship Duration: The internship programme will normally last for 4 to 8 weeks during the summer period, subject to project requirements and the candidate’s availability.

Position: Summer Intern

Job Description and Responsibilities:

The intern will be assigned to support construction projects and will work under the guidance of project and site teams. Major duties include:

• Assisting in day-to-day site coordination and monitoring of construction progress;
• Supporting engineers in preparing site records, method statements, inspection forms, progress reports and other project documents;
• Assisting in checking drawings, specifications and construction details;
• Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers and other project parties as required;
• Participating in site inspections, quality checking and safety-related activities;
• Learning practical construction procedures, contract requirements and project management practices; and
• Carrying out other engineering and administrative duties assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate students or recent graduates in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management or related disciplines;
• Interested in developing a career in the construction industry;
• Responsible, proactive, willing to learn and able to work in a site environment;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and engineering drawings; and
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
